You won't be a virgin for much longer once your "broken in" for using caps lock

Didnt realise it was a crime to use caps lock
dont know much about the e30s ive been told that a 325i puts out around170bhp as standard if this is the case would it take much to get it up arond the 200 mark

fair enough my last whip was a 3litre v6 vauxhall omega which ran over 200 as standard are there any mods that are worth doing or is it not worth the hasle...
if you want to run 200bhp. the cheapest way is to fit the m50 or m52 from the e36/e34. At 192bhp for a 2.5 its not half bad. A bit of fannying around is needed for some parts to make it fit. If you're interested in the swap there is a thread at the top of the engine swaps / forced induction forum bit with the title of something like "Considering an m50? read this..." or something like that

One point to consider, if you are going to do the very worthwhile conversion of fitting a M50 engine, is that if the touring you buy was first registered after 01/08/1992, then you will have to fit the M50 with a cat, or run it on LPG, to realistically pass a UK MOT test.
If you are prepared to do the engine swap, and are happy to run with a cat, then the best choice of touring would be a very late 316 lux, as they were made for a year or so after 325 production finished.

These cars just wont have 170bhp anymore. If you spend serious money you may get it back up to there with replacing worn stuff in your engine.
All sorts like camshafts and big bore thottle bodies etc can produce a bit more power, but they have some potential, but not much. The tuning mods often make the car more responsive or quicker to accelerate etc.
Common things in these cars is to do mods that improve upon stock parts such as uprating the steering rack, or putting (as above) bigger/newer engines into them...
A nice 325i is a lovely motor though, and a bit of tweeking might not make it incredibly rapid, but a hoot of a machine! Best thing to do with these is to replace worn parts and give them some of their original flare back.
BTW, 200bhp + is entirely possible. Just be prepared to pay a lot of money! Camshafts and kit, Wild/Custom ECU, Big Bore Throttle Body, maybe a 2.8L conversion, BTB exhaust manifold, ported and polished heads and so on, incuded with a nice rebuild of most other engine parts (the worn stuff) to their former glory and you should hit that mark and maybe some more. Turbos or Superchargers can add a serious amount for the nutters who are willing to do what it takes to fit them!

Uni is killing the project.
