Very good write-up Ian.
Is the colour rare?.
I thought you had sold the car and 'given up' on us Zoners!
Cheers Gareth.

Good article, however didnt really tell us anything that we didnt already know about the H26, which is what I like about TBMW features, they are very informative.
Car looked ok, didnt like the number plates with the St. georges Flags on, and didnt like the povery spec interior... No leccy windows and the cloth looks nasty.
IMO, A great car with good power and very clean however if It was mine i would do the following;
- Add leather trim.
- OBC
- LSD
- Electric windows retrofit.
Or just tune a regular facelift 325i sport with all the goodies already - prob cost about the same amount and you can't beat the look of a late sport in Grey/Black.
There's my two pence worth.... I would be more interested in the other HArtge you have, that looks the daddy!

Weight is the enemy!
I thought the cloth looked OK, I find I slide all over the shop in leather seats myself (being a skinny bstard) so go for cloth when I buy a car

Yep 'fraid so, every car I've ever owned I've had cloth in.
Really don't see what the big attraction is with leather
Its freezing cold to sit on when you get in in the winter
It's scorching hot to sit on when you get in in the summer, and gets all sweaty/sticky.
It looks crap when it starts to crack up
and you slide about on it.
Dont particularly like leather sofas either
I know I'm in a minority on this one, but thats how I see it.

Oh and regards weight, I did put some on, and it all went on my stomach, so I'm trying to lose it from there again!

If i recall, you asked for opinions on the first line of this thread?! I gave mine, dont like it, thats life, doesnt always have to be good does it?H35-IAN wrote:lol theres always one ent there"!" andy m8 do u think im bothered about all the things u dont like on my car m8!! ( DUDE U DRIVE A E36 )
And yeah I do drive an E36 after 5 E30s, needs must, but as you see i'm still loyal to the e30 scene otherwise i wouldnt hang around this forum!
This is what I hate about forums, people getting really uptight after asking for peoples views... we cant all agree... can we?

H26 vs a C2 2.7?? One has 190 bhp and the other has 200+ BHP and much more torque.H35-IAN wrote:thats it buddy u got it!! and andy when he came to view the car said to me HARTGE OVER ALPINA anyday he said itd eat a c2.7 alive and he knows hes driven preety much everything!! lolalpina = sloppy n suttle....... GeoffH26 (guy with Silver H26) said he raced a C2 2.7 and the 2.7 was faster.
Alpina Sloppy? There isnt alot of different in the both cars and they way they tune them.
My personal preference is the Hartge because they dont have to meet strict regulations (emmissions) but thats not to say they are sloppy etc.
Hartge and ALpina - there is nothing in them, its a very subtle difference.
Your H35 (270 bhp claimed) vs Alpina B6 (261 bhp).......you really think 9 bhp is going to make your car beat the B6 into the ground? The Alpina probably has more torque low down because of the type of cam it has so its probably going to be very even.
With reguards to your threat.....I have recieved your pm and I have sent a reply.

All good now.
Anyway......the Alpina vs Hartge arguement is still on! All in good faith obvioulsy.
Hows about we get a C2 2.7 to go up against your H26?
I think the 200+ lb.ft torqyue of the Alpina will put up a serious fight once over 60 mph.
Anyway, your still a lucky git having two special cars!

thats sorted then. No offence taken.
Anyway .... Alpina V's Hartge Debate - I wonder if any of the Hartges H35 -H36 etc, would stand much chance with my old E30 M3 B6S Transplant now dips has had a go at it... turbo + nitrous on a 260BHP alpina lump!
