judder/stutter:electrical!!!

i need help cos this is getting on my tits now
1990 m40 1600i (63k on clock)
driving along normally car will stutter occasionaly
econometer will fall straight to zero (electric fault)!!
rev counter will fall straight to zero (electric fault)!!
revs are at around 2-2500k when this happens driving normally
fitted new ht leads,dizzy cap and rotor
checked blue temp sensor all ok
checked and cleaned icv,afm and tb plus i fitted new rubber boot intake hose
did a service on it,oil,air filter and new spark plugs
changed fuel pump relay and dme relay just in case
checked all earth leads, ie engine to body strap and so on
no loose connections i can find, if there is any more please let me know
car allways starts first time all the time hot or cold
i have been told it maybe because the car was not getting used for a few days but its not like this all the time
1st time two months ago on a good run
2nd time last week going to work (5miles)
3rd time returnig home from work, car was sitting for 3hrs in car park, went to work no probs coming back stuttered once
havnt changed fuel filter yet
this was happening before all new parts and after fitting new parts
sorry for the big post but i need some suggestions on this
and ive allready been searching for the past couple of months on this subject
