Hi Guys & Girls.
E30 325i Touring
My central locking has gone and locked me out.
The problem is as follows: car will unlock the two rear doors and tailgate with key fob. then I can open passenger door by pulling lock up from inside.
I have then to climb over into drivers seat to drive car, when at destination, I have to climb over to passenger side to vacate the car.
Locking car: press key fob and nothing happens, lock using key in tailgate has car locking then unlocking as if drivers door is open.
push passenger door button down, and car will lock at tailgate.
Please help if you can, i am too old to climb across from seat to seat.
Thinking possibly Central locking motor in drivers door broken?
Thanks in advance for any help you can supply.
Kindest regards
Chris

First point is: There's no electric deadlock on the driver's door. On this lock only, the dead locking is purely mechanical, and the door should unlock with the key even if the central locking is completely dead, possibly with some help by lifting the handle as you turn the key.
The power to the front door lock motors is exactly the same wires as the power to the rear doors, so the problem has to be the front door lock motors or the plug/sockets in the door hinge pillars where the door looms plug in.
Lock motors are usualy reliable, unless the locking ECU gets flooded, when it tends to totaly fry ALL the lock motors.

Thanks Brian
Managed to take door card out while door still locked unbolted lock motor and hey presto door unlocks. Borrowed lock motor from rear door and bolted into front, works a dream, apart from passenger side. Will have to get two motors from somewhere.
Any ideas on why both front door motors would have packed up at same time? or just coincidence?
Anyway thanks for your previous help. (sorry for late reply, did double shift yesterday)
Regards
