I've got this machine thing, never used it before. 900w motor and it says 2000rpm. Is it safe for polishing?

Also its got a Velcro pad which is passed it. Where can I get some new pads which have Velcro, and which ones?

And lasting which product should I use with the machine to eliminate swirl's and light scratches?

I'll obviously clay bar the car prior to this.

just be bloody careful with that thing or you'll be seeing primer through your paintwork! get a decent pad on there and you're away. what compound are you using?

Theres a website that explains everything you need to know Pretty sure its called detailers paradise could be wrong though,Someone will corect me. Its not just about the pads fitted it also has something to do with the speed settings on the machine and the way you control the machine.Products also play a big part due to abrasiveness if there is such a word.Basically you could end up damaging/burning your paint if you do not know what you are doing.

g3 by farecla is probably one of the better compounds to use as it breaks down nicely and is easy enough to work with. best tip i could give is not to stay in one place for long with the mop and make sure the paint doesnt get too hot, it will get quite warm but you can keep it the temp down by spraying a mist of water over the area ur mopping with a trigger spray of some sort. spraying water does weaken the compound g3 and make it thin out but you want to get rid of all the compound on the paintwork anywy so its not all bad if you overdo it. becuse your machine polisher doesnt appear to be a variable speed version you'll need to excercise caution on edges and swagelines as the paint is thinner there

Used farecla mops and products on mine and was happy with the results although they did say on the directions not to use water I did anyway and treated it to a second serving followed by there hand gloss polish. Also found mcguiars machine swirl remover to be quite good.Tried all my products on a test wing before doing on my car and when I got it right on the wing then done it on the car.My friends who work in the car trade can still see things wrong but I was happy.Detailing is a weird thing which has just reminded me of the name of the website detailers world.Perfection and money is everything with these boys waxes that cost 1200 for a small tub.

Farecla are velcro, but go to a good paint shop with your machine and they should be able to recomend the best pads for you. Also my friend just reminded me that what you have could be a d/a which is used for sanding and not for polishing.I am quite in-experienced on this and there is other members of the zone that can advise you better so hold tight until you get better advice on this one as it can go wrong really quickly if you do it wrong.

I tested it on portion of the bonnet which had some good paint left. (Scrap Bonnet) I used meguiar's scratch x just to test it. I applied very little pressure with quick up and down movements for a short period of time. It removed some of the scratches and swirls it is much shiner. I'll get some of that G3 and a decent pad and practice on a scrap panel to make sure I do it right with out damaging the paint as its a constant 2000rpm.

I work in at a garage and we've got a couple of those. I have had a go at it myself on an old $hitter we had and its not that easy and pretty messy. I managed to get some swirl marks on it and wasn't that impressed of my finished product. I'm currently getting a bit of bodywork done on my motorsport next week and i'm getting the bodywork man to machine mine. Then i'm treating it to a coat of the Autoglym high definition Wax. Hopefully post some pictures of the finished job.

Theres a video on youtube that teaches you how to use farecla machine products, its good to watch even if you are not going to use there gear just to learn the way to use a polisher properly(think there may be a mcguiars video as well). Can not put a link at the moment as youtube has been banned at work.
