M50 Turbo

Just thinking WAY down the line here, but does anyone actually know what sort of power M50's make with say about 7-10 psi of boost?

I'm being specific on the boost level there as I would have thought it is the kind of boost you can get away with and avoid weekly headgasket changes.

m50 makes 190 odd horse power at atmospheric pressure, so if you increase that pressure to 7psi more, then that makes 21.7 psi going into the engine. now the engine can theoreticaly make an extra 90.47619 hp on top which makes 280 odd hp.

With 10psi and a good system and good mapping that should be over 300bhp.

Should be somewhere in region 400-500bhp on pretty much standard engine, reliable all depends on the donk you buy in the first place. A leakdown or compression test and seeing+hearing it running will give you some assurance of what your buying and how long it will last.

The only major issue is space M50 in a RHD E30 is where skill and experience comes into pay in making it all work together correctly. Last thing anyone wants is paying for quality parts, miss-matched together with embarrasing results.

HX35, intercooler, squirt, injectors, fuel pump, exhaust manifold, clutch and the m50 as is

10psi - 280-390hp totally dependent on the turbo and turbo manifold.

m50 8.5-1 comp 20psi t3 60-1 turbo = 450bhp
lost my print out for low boost run, think it was around 300bhp at 7/8 psi

Forged and dished pistons would normally get the cr down
