Hi,
I have a 1993 318i Lux Cabby (M40 engine) and I'm just about to arrange to have a 325i M20 engine fitted.
I have a couple of queries:

1. Do I tell the Insurance company, declare on my V5 and ammend for the MOT? Opinions and estimates of cost please?

2. Do I need to consider upgrades to the suspension and brakes I currently have on my standard car?

Would appreciate everyone's advice.

Thanks
Kris

You will need to tell your insurance and dvla about the engine change.

You already have uprated suspension and rear disc brakes.

Thats what I thought, being a heavier car than the coupe etc.

Will no doubt legally change it once I have had it one. May need to change to a more modification friendly insurer though.

Who have people found to be good insurers?
I'm with Admiral at the moment
