E46 factory radio -cassette player security code.

I own a 2000 318i E46,I want to put a after market cd player in the car and when I come to sell the car I will put the factory one back.The only problem is the factory unit has a security code which should in the the information booklet about the unit, but it is not.Does anyone know how I can find this code out.Many thanks.

chances are you will need to get it decoded if you dont have the code
you could always just put it in and leave it for the new owner to sort out

on ford sites if you post up the serial number of the unit several members will post up the security code you need.
i dont know if you can get the same on an e46 site?
