Hi guys, need to put my mind at rest.....I live In South West London and about once a week I see the same stunning Silver E30 Touring drive past, the car is 100% original and immaculate, It is fitted with a very subtle bodykit that consists of slightly deeper lower valances, definately a BMW bodykit. It looks stuninning.

Is this a very rare Sport Touring Model?

Cheers!! :D

Could be an m-tech 1 or 2 kit, try and describe it a bit better.

There's 3 touring's on the zone now with the M-tech kit, not a sport touring...just a touring with the bodykit.

Here's mine..

Does look very nice!

Those Hartges look great.

I'm tempted by a set of Smoked Hellas on mine.

Mines the same, a Touring with an M-Tech II bodykit, I'm making it as much like a 'Touring Sport' as possible.

I've sorted an LSD now, which will be on in a few weeks.

I have a 2.5 engine at home, which will be added soon also.

Dave, don't buy smoked hellas, I'm working on a DIY set!! A lot cheaper too!

Also did you know they did an Anthracite headlining for the touring...deffo something I will be investing in in the future!! Thanks to Steve for spotting that!

I've see what sounds like the same touring about 6 months by Hampton Court. It had an M-tec 2 kit (factory fitted) original 15" cross spoke alloys, black leather with rear headrests, and looked absoultly mint!!

Si, I heard about the black headlining thing?

A mate of mine Gav325iSport on here, asked for me and they had no idea?

I'll try it again I think, I'd be up for that.

Another option is to paint the existing one with fabric paint? People say it works.

I've got pretty much all the Sport extras now, more than some Sports have at all!

Might go to BBS's or Genuine 16" Alpinas for the original look too at some point.

I look forward to hearing about the DIY Smoked Headlights!

Dave..part numbers...

E/S - 51 44 2 258 178 Ԛ£237
M/S - 51 44 2 261 752 Ԛ£212

They only show up under 1994 touring's on the ETK none others, it also shows up as Special M-tech edition..so they must have offered some sort of special edition!

Si,

sounds good, but my my that's expensive! Maybe one for the future, or if the spraying doesn't work well!

Can't wait to get the 2.5 and LSD on mine!

325drifter: i don't think they ever sold a 325 sport touring but i think the car we have seen is a top spec touring with every extra possible on it.
If you manage to find another one like that silver one you will be sorted because that car is spot on mate.

Yeah it could just be a late ' all option boxes ticked ' model, the bodykit is very subtle which I like as I believe less is more if you know what I mean.... a mate said the other day that standard is the new modified...I quite agree!!

If I ever find where the guy lives I will leave a note on his windscreen saying ' call me if you ever sell this car ' as if he doesn't know his stuff he will probably get Ԛ£500 is part ex for it!!

Worth a try!
I've only ever seen it once so you may not ever see it again.
Judging by the condition of the car i wouldn't think it gets used every day.

Si,

I have a 2.5 sitting in another Touring at home ready to go in.

I've just sorted a 3.91 LSD from Karlp.

I can't wait to get it in. Not much left to do then! I'll have to sell it!

Does the headlining from BMW include the sunroof panel? What about sun visors?!

My Touring now has amongst other things:

17" Kosei Snipers
Lowered 40mm all round. Soon to be 40mm front 60mm rear.
Full Black leather (M3 Front Seats)
13 Button OBC
M-Tech II Wheel
Map Reading Light Rear View Mirror

Plus more touches!

What else do I need to do to make it into what a Touring Sport would have been?

Apart from the 2.5 and LSD which are both sorted?

hi guys, just been reading the thread and saw your looking for a dark headling, I've just had by touring headlining replaced with a black one custom made by a company in Surrey, they also blacked all the handals and other grey bits too

How much did this cost?

How does it look now?

How long did it take to do?

Sounds good!

Sounds like you've pretty much sorted it! Close ratio box is the only thing really!

I did think of going that way but in the end went for the iS lip spoiler (to be fitted) but the m-tec kit is :notworthy:

[quote="325drifter"] "standard is the new modified"

I love that quote! Couldn't agree more. I met a fellow E30 enthusiast the other day and upon seeing my car for the first time said something to the effect of "yah, it'll be a cool car once you fit an iS air dam extension AND some Alpina rims AND some tinted taillights AND, AND, AND...

Screw that; I like my car the way it rolled out the the factory, thank you very much!

Having said that, I'd really like to see a photo of a black headliner in a Touring. Anyone out there have a shot? I'll be replacing mine very soon and would order the black if I weren't afraid of making the inside of the car feel like a cave.
