Hi All,
I'm fairly new to the forum and very impressed by the level of knowledge that most people on here have.
I'm starting to become fairly involved in drifting and was wondering if anyone on here has some advice.
I have an E30 325ise which is pretty much stock. My plans so far are to get as much weight out of it as possible, get a strong anti-roll bar at the back, weld the 3:73 diff in it and put a straight through exhaust on.
Im not sure what else would help performance wise for this type of racing.
The car is purely for track use so crazy non-road legal ideas are also welcome.
Any advice is appreciated as my knowledge with E30's is not amazing.
Thanks,
Stevo

ello mate nice to see a drfifter on here!!!
ive done a few choice mods myself but only for street use.... not for competition or anything...
the rear arb will help a lot as will welding the diff
a bucket seat with harness will also greatly help u!!
poly bushes averywhere and a good suspension kit will help too-i used the h&r cup kit which is nice and drifts controllably due to a fairly soft rear spring rate.
exhaust will sound good but dont expect huge power differences
a chip to raise the rev limit would be good..u can get one from a fella called Ant on here....
oh yeh and bald rear tyres help or steelies to practise on!

Sideways to victory!
The welded diff will make it go sideways everywhere if its anything like the last car I drove with one.
All you need then is the power to spin up the wheels at high speed so do the ususal mods to the engine and strip everything non-essential out of the car.
Then have lots of fun!

wouldnt worry bout power as ppl in the past with welded diffs have made awesome drift cards with 2.5 engines!!!

welded diff will make it understeer everywhere unless you know what your doing. fuck doing anything to the car dude, just get some practice in it as it is. then work out what needs uprating further down the line, but yeh a chip just to raise the crappy low rev limiter would be nice.

well yeah they hang the ass out if you want them to, but then like long corners in the wet...understeer. tiny roundabouts understeer. but yeah if you provoke them and know what you are doing you end up with nice arse out action
