Anyone had this problem before? i think my nearside front caliper may be seized, its binding badly and getting rather hot.

i pushed piston back and copper greased everything but when i applied brakes hard again seems to have gone tight again

Hi

If you dont think its the caliper i once had a brake pipe which rotted inside and gave the same symptoms as a siezed caliper, this happened after disturbing it, changed pipe and cleaned cliper out to fix, may help

its maybe the sliding rod side of the caliper thats siezed. if a rubber boots split dirt and water gets in and rusts and stops it sliding.
the caliper can be stripped down and refurbed using a kit thats about £40 for a pair of calipers or refurbed and shiny calipers can be bought exchange from ECP for about £50 per side.
