Welcome to the zone!

The answers to life the universe and everything to do with e30s is contained within this forum:)

Searching is often the best way to start off, but to save you the hassle:) the answer is simply the stock airbox is the best choice for induction, just get a decent panel fiter for it. The cone filters that you see don't flow as well and generally don't have cold air feeds from the front of the car. 99% of kits you can get will result in a power drop, a possible exception is the rather excellent BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox, yours for a mere Ԛ£135ish quid (thats the 318is one but I am sure it will be fine, M5Pilot can give you more details if you are interested)
