when to replace a battery

I left my lights on today for about 6 hrs and the battery was pretty much dead. seen as there is a facility to leave the side lights on whilst parked, overnight, that would suggest that the battery is skuppered. the alternator has 40 k on it so should still be working ok.

The battery is 4 yrs old, should i bother to eak out some more life from it or just get a new one.

get it tested mate but if it comes up fine then no need 2 replace it i've had my batt 7yrs now and still goin strong
