I don't want to beat this down to death but I'm in the process of building a e30 with the latest m30b35 engine from a 91 auto E32 and I was offered a rad from the same car really really cheap, now I know that it isn't no e28 rad and what I meant to ask is, even if I place the engine as far behind as I'm allowed to (PIII) with the modification to the firewall, etc will it still be impossible to use this radiator on my conversion?
Thanks in advance

I've got the E32 engine and autobox in my E30, but it was the previous owner who did the conversion. I am fairly sure it is the E32 rad in mine.
Not conclusive I know, so if nobody comes up with a definitive answer, I can put a picture up in the hope that someone can identify the rad.
Martin.
ps: The previous owner kept copious records and wiring diagrams when he did the swap, more than happy to share them.

It should be ok, but the gap between the rad and the disi cap is very minimal, 2-3mm.diogogaspar wrote:I don't want to beat this down to death but I'm in the process of building a e30 with the latest m30b35 engine from a 91 auto E32 and I was offered a rad from the same car really really cheap, now I know that it isn't no e28 rad and what I meant to ask is, even if I place the engine as far behind as I'm allowed to (PIII) with the modification to the firewall, etc will it still be impossible to use this radiator on my conversion?

Easy to wire up, need a 4 pin relay, fuse holder and temp switch.
Will get the diagram for you today as its at the garage.

Nice to see someone else going down the autobox route, pretty much all the conversions I've seen so far have been manual gearboxes. Personally, I really like the lazy cruising style of the auto.
Bear in mind that the autobox is pretty large, thus the transmission tunnel will need a little reshaping. Also, the fly-by-wire throttle linkage will need to be transferred over.
Some pics of my car are in this thread, happy to send more if you need them - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=

sorry if I mislead you on this one I'm using a manual gearbox from a gertrag 265 to be precised only the engine is from an auto and I recall Theo stating that I had to use bearing and change the throttle position since it was from an auto (correct me n this Theo if I'm wrong) but on ther than that it's a bolt on job same as the manual unit.

Now as for the throtthle position I do have aother question, do I have to change the throttle body for a manual one, or simply modify the exysting one? this is not going to be a track car but a dailly commuter, a rather extreme one but a daillly commuter nevertheless so I don't intended to have to do weekly cheecks on it, plus I choose a M30 for their bulletprof reliabilaty.
anyone care to comment on this?

what I meant for extreme road use was, a gasflow head with a proper ECU for higher revs combined with mild cams, lightned flywheel and crank and since the injectors aren't too kin on get the juices flowing maybe upgrading them has anyone here taking that road? what blowing the engine aparts or snaping a con rod?

don't mean to disrespect any of the members here since all the opinions have been of such great interest but who's the tech guru regarding fine tuning of this engines (later B3.5, cause I already now that the latter 3,4 is alot rev happy than the 3.5)?

E32 rad can be fitted, but you need to cut out both sides ofchassis ends about 2 inches. mine positioned beyond P3, so, thre's enough place for the visco fan..
please go thru the M30 "sticky" write-up

Yes but maybe he doesn't want to go down the "Cutting route" to allow for a viscous.kabeer wrote:Comon guys..please have look at the M30 thread...Rav335uk wrote:Not a chance.the visco fan wouln't fit?![]()
