Picked up the 325 Touring tonight after it's head transpant and apart from one niggling problem (see post in tech section), i'm very impressed. I dont think it's just because i've been driving my wife's 1.6 Scenic for the past three weeks on and off, but the car really flies now. It's been fitted with a 272/284 cam and the head was ported out both on inlet and exhaust. It just revs so quickly in 1st and 2nd gears now. Pick-up above 4k is incredible compared to what it did before. I'm well chuffed!!

Car needs an MoT now, so it'd better pass without any more expense - this head transpant has cost me a small fortune!

I haven't had much time to get used to it yet, but it is as predicted - revs so easily above 4k, but doesn't do much different below that.

It needs a new chip to make the most of it's latest mods and i'm considering getting the injectors cleaned professionally too.

I'd take it to an MOT station to get them to check the emissions before you fork out for an MOT. With no remap and a high lift cam, you might experience high emissions levels.

Good point Adam, though the garage i get my MoTs done at is the same place that just fitted the head - i'm sure they'll either set it up for free, or advise me it's a problem before hitting me with the full MoT charge. I do need to tip them off about this though. Thanks.

I wonder if Ant could to an "MoT-chip" - one that reduces emissions purely to get through the test, then you can change it back afterwards!?

I was brickin it about my MOT the day before Lakeside, but it was fine, I wouldn't worry too much about it, at least phone them up and ask for their opinion i suppose.

Too right!

I had a Daewooooo Matiz for a week before Christmas. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face when I got back behind the wheel of Brown.

Alas, I've been 6 months without the ol' girl now
