Anyone know what the liquid in the headlight leveler tubes is?
The blue fishy smelling stuff!
Just normal hydraulic fluid?

very similar to coolant. It's water based, not oil.

Not sure where you are going with this, but the whole system is a sealed unit, if any part of it is cut, seized or leaking then you have to replace the whole lot. It costs Ԛ£105 from BMW iirc. Probably not the easiest thing to fit either due to all the routing.
I'm guessing that's why you asked?
I picked one up on ebay for Ԛ£50, another went at the same time for Ԛ£60, so they do come up.

That's no longer available and only fitted cars in 1988 (according to real OEM). The part number is 63121394249 which is the part I'm talking about.

I've never been told by my local dealer that ANY E30 part that I've ordered is NLA, and I've ordered some fairly obscure parts over the years.
I suspect some dealers say NLA for an easy life.

well then if your dealer can get hold of a rear headrest fitting kit for a tourer, I'll suck his c0ck!!
The Ԛ£36 part is lovely and cheap at Ԛ£36, but there's not a dealer in the country who either has one, nor can get one. I hope this clarifies.

when i was in there last he said that he could get the headlamp level system from germany.
my dealer even had some M3 headrests on special order for me they were in a rare pattern cloth and NLA but he chased it up and i had to wait about 9weeks but they got them for me.

The tourer rear headrest kit is the same as the front seats from any other model, go down the breakers and get some.tourer-dan wrote:well then if your dealer can get hold of a rear headrest fitting kit for a tourer, I'll suck his c0ck!!

superb!
Is there a way of getting it out easily or is it a case of mullering the old seat for easiness?
BTW:
tastes nasty does it Mark? You wanna tell him to have a wash first next time.

you may find you get that answer from most parts departments at dealers and mostly it is not available from bmw gb but it is always available from bmw ag in germany i also have ordered some really obscure parts and 3 working days later they have arrived ....a good parts man is worth his weight in gold ..sadly a lot at bmw just cant be bothered i have never been told a part is not available and as a "enthusiast" i always get a discount sometimes up 20% so next time they say no ask them to check with bmw ag in germany or tell them you phoned bmw gb in bracknell and they said it was still available and bmw gb directed you to your dealer to order .......suddenly they begin to pull there finger out ....suprising that..good luck
