slightly tempting..... local paper AD

1991 BMW 3 SERIES,
Petrol, 105,000 miles, . Rare TC Baur Limited Edition 318is Convertible finished in dark met. Blue, with matching Blue hood,2 owners, genuine miles, alloys,Power steering,e/w,cd player,MOT,taxed,a clean example of a soon to collector car

so
1) did Baur really do this? sounds perfect (not all that extra weight that BMW had to put on to make up for NO ROOF AT ALL, but you can still burn your bonce)
2) guess how much?

Baur used to convert any model you were prepared to pay for. The 318is Baur must be the rarest, because at the same time you could buy a BMW convertible for the same money... but not in the 318iS form.

I've only ever seen 3 318iS Baur convertibles, 2 red and 1 white

Got to be worth Ԛ£1200...

Ԛ£2800
Yes they did a 318is,Lovely motor, lightest and most ridged 3 series.
I think you could get it for about Ԛ£2000 though as these cars dont have the pull as a full drophead. But better in my opion.
Bloody Ԛ£4000 option from the dealer!!!

Buy it.

No,its on auto trader.
I have a baur and like to keep my eye on them and their prices.
This looks like a really good one.
At the e30 day at rockingham a guy had a white one.He was embarassing quite a few other people on track with much more powerfull and expensive machinery.

Is this the one??

looks good doesn't it?

(when I said it was in the local paper that was just rubbish - monday brain)

what makes you think they'd drop to 2k? If it's as good as we think, it'd be as good as a 325 sport that also lets the sun in.

:D mate if your looking for some thing fast, rare, different and handles,You cant go wrong with this car.Its a great colour too.
I think if you knock the door a wave a couple of Gs,you will get it.
Trouble with baurs the uninformed see them as second rate to the full drop.
Ive owned both. The baur is a far better drivers car,But the drop gets it in the posing stakes. Not that the baur is ugly, far from it.But the unfussed look of a drop with the hood and windows down looks really great.

that's attractive

I don't usually like white cars.... they have to be a certain shape to get away with it

but I like that :D

(a bit too low/wheels/bodykit for me, but I'm old and believe bodykit just adds weight and that's a bad thing  )

I remember the white 318is Baur at the BMW CC show at Hestercombe last year. Iirc it took a bit of investigating on the owners part to find out the background to the car because it was so rare. Not as rare as the M3 Baur that was in BMWcar last year in a show article mind you.
