Hi ya fella i am in the process of cleaning my engine up and carrying out some repairs while she's pulled apart... But just relised i dont know the setting for the head bolts..

Does any one know ???

1st step: 30Nm
2nd step: 90°
3rd step: 90°

Order of tightening (bolts):


12 10 4 2 6 8 14>front
13 7 5 1 3 9 11
These numbers are for BMW OEM headgasket.
Its good to wait 15 min between 2nd and 3rd step.

After the initial torque up, mark the head of each bolt with a spot of tippex or similar at the 12 o'clock position.
Avoids that nagging "did I angle torque that particular bolt or not" feeling, after you've finished!
