Hi people

Now, being the purveyors of style that you all are on here, I want advice

My car goes into the spray booth on Mon, a bit later than scheduled, but thats a story for another time.

I have two routes I can take here, and want some opinions

First, we have the "fettled, lovely chariot" route
Image

Against the more oem route

Just unsure about whether the fettled look will be a bit ott

(sorry for the POOR photochop by the way!)

p.s not my car in pics, but you get the idea

Well if it makes any difference the car is not a sport or anything, so wont affect value or anything, I am planning on keeping it, a fair bit of work has gone into it, just unsure how o finish it all off.

Thanks for the replies so far guys. :D

im not a great fan of 2 tones in general really .if i had to choose 2 tones though ,it would be 2 tones that were better suited. i think thats to much of a colour contrast. 2 tone cars always put me in mind of the old days when rusty old cars were painted along the bottom as a cheap cover up for rusty panels and cills, especially when black is used and looks like wax oil :D
i definately think the darker of the 2 tones used whatever they are should be on the bottom half or it makes the car look top heavy.

I like the two tone look, never was a fan before but I've seen a few really nice 2tone E30s, then again, I've seen some shockers...
Not in E30s any more :(

Two tone looks awful in my opinion. The only time it 'may' look good is with two really really close subtle colours and even then, it would probably look like a car that has the bottom painted badly or visa versa.

I agree, dark colour should be on the bottom, dont like it on the top. As for colours, I will do a black and white, see how that comes out.

Any other colour suggestions? Must include black though as that is the original colour of the car.

Once again, thanks for the input :D

Ok, so I did a photoshop of the black and white suggestion -

Also, had a brainwave (imo) about maybe doing the roof black, to break it up a bit? - found this pic which is closer to what my car actually looks like in terms of wheels etc (i hav borbet b's)

Again, opinions welcomed :D

my car is lachs silver, its black from the body kit down, eventually it will be half and half, silver top black bottom.

i don't care what people think i like it, and that imo is what matters

I was thinking lachs, or dolphin maybe - after what fozzy said - don't suppose you have any pics of it by any chance?

I do like that colour combo - I will have to do a photoshop of it for sure to see how it looks. Thanks for that mate.

Bet those lights are pretty darn bright once you get them all switched on! 8O

It's kind of difficult to explain, but I want to freshen the car up, but still keep that retro 80's look, as a sort of homage to it's heyday.
I'm even thinking of retaining a SMALL amount of chrome :o:
