i realise this is an e30 forum but i would realy appreciate some of your opinions on this one, im not the most technically minded person so i have no idea what to look for but would realy appreciate some help!
my 1995 318is is making quite a loud whirring and whinning noise from the engine which changes pitch as the engine revs, and is there when the car is stationary and idling. Basicaly it sounds like a turning part in the engine that is making a noise when it shouldnt be!
Also, when i first start the engine and try to put it in first gear its a realy hard push to get it into gear, however once in gear you can take it in and out again repeatedly with no hassle?!?! Turn the engine off, then on again and its the same all over again.
any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Sounds clutch/g-box related bud, maybe the release bearing, or primary synchro on its way out??
Wanted: Any old component speakers, complete or separate parts, let me know what you got
