Evening all. I just picked up a complete turbo system from a friend of mine, excluding the intercooler, and want to fit it to my babby. Any advice? Not really doing it for anyreal performance, just want to increase the value of my car. Its a IHI turbo. When i say complete, i mean complete, pipes, manifold flanges etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Adding a turbo is unlikely to increase the resale value off your car.
Have a look through a load of the turbo threads in this section before you dive in, if nothing else it helps you learn all the terms, and pick up some tips and tricks.

Its a VJ24 turbo pushing out 18psi. My car is also an auto and have done some research and found that they are common on the subaru automatics. Gives bottom end power and quick spool. Iv spent so much time and money on my rust bucket i would never sell it. I got this turbo, complete, for R500.00, about £33.30. Sounds a bit fishy but everything is all good. Looking to fit it soon and would like some advice on running hoses, oil pick up. I also want to use my aircon evaporator as the intercooler, as the aircon dont work. Please get back to me. Will upload some pics to my blog at http://davidbeswick@vox.com

A/C Evap coil is the wrong design for an intercooler, IC are bar and plate not tube and fin construction dude.
nothing wrong with Turboing a 320, theres 4mm of extra HG area to start with which is only a good thing.
no more then 12psi though dude ok

I am hoping you mean where do I put the AFM, before or after the turbo.
I'd put it before the turbo, but many will disagree. In an ideal world the AFM would be redundant as you'd be on standalone management.

Im a member of e30clubsa,joined about 2years ago but nearly all of them have 1.3 motronic which is why i joined an overseas club. Cant find anyone that is really clued up on jetronic. Whats a saffa, if its what i think it is, a native african, no im not. I got it from a guy that stays in my building. We had a serious rain storm a while back and he got caught on a bridge by a flash flood and insurance replaced his 2002 mazda 2.5 tdi engine and have the stuffed one back to him. The turbine on the exhaust side was jammed because the locator pin on the exhaust side housing was not aligned, so i undid the flange clamp, realigned the locator pin, and hey presto, it works. This obviously means that it never worked in his van at all and cost him a lot of diesel and performance. This morning, i went and pulled of the rest of the accessories off. Like i said, iv got everything barring the intercooler.Oh, he also gave me the alternator which i fitted today, using it for my sound system. So now i got 2 alternators.

sorry mate. Because I saw the currency as R500.00 I assumed it was South African Rands hence the term Saffa which is a shortened version of South African. All the best with the conversion.
