Can someone please advise me as to what rear suspension struts my 1990 325i auto convertible will need. I'd like to find out what originally would have been used and what you suggest as a good alternative.

Many thanks.

Lizzie I'd suggest you drop a line to zimmerbimmer1, he's the zones' BMW parts dealer and is very helpful. If you include the chassis number etc. he'll tell you everything you need to know about what your car would have originally been specified with. The OEM dampers shouldn't be too expensive so hopefully a good alternative wont be required.

Thanks I will do this - is he away at the moment though? How should I contact him usually, via FAO section?

Lizzie, just put up a post in the genuine BMW parts section or drop him a PM. He'll respond in fairly short order. Failing that, phone the dealership up on (parts) 01242 257999 and tell them you are an E30 Zone customer of Pauls and that they are to look after you.

I know them all very well there and they are all very professional.

Old_skool, thanks very much for your advise. I've just left a message in the genuine BMW Parts Section, so hopefully he'll see it when he returns back from Scumball.

Again  very much for your help.

PS: Still loving that car of yours. Sounds like a good name for a song. Or maybe it should be "Can't stop loving that car of mine!!" LOL :winkeye:
