Hi everyone

need help i am new to bmw scene i have just baught a 320 3 dr very cheap but want a little more power would a 735 engine go straight in or is it a pain to swap or has anyone put a v8 bmw engine in one like the 4.4 and what gearbox will i need or will the standard one be ok

plenty of information available mate, just search for M30 swap or M60 swap.

Looked at an E30 with a BMW V8 engine the other weekend.....soounded the dogs danglys...but the exhaust passes VERY close to the starter motor,making starting a bit of a lottery..the owner was very adept at parking on a slope.Also noted very little clearance around the rocker boxes/engine bay sides.You will need to be a pretty good engineer/fabricator to make that swap work.Certainly well beyond my skill levels.
