stero and earthing fault

hi

I, ve just been putting in a new apline stero system in my e30 cab It all worked before I locked it in place. and then when locked in place nothing turn on but there is power going to the system. also now the rev/ecmony gauge gose ape sh*t when you either open or close the door or turn the interior light on.

any ideas

also has a bmw alarm think i read some where the alarm cuts the power to the stero or something but could be wrong.

please help me

pull it back out and try it lose again, see if it works there. If not then it's not the headunit causing it. Also try disconnecting the headunit and see if it cures the econometer/door issue.

Is it just the headunit you have put in, or is there subs/amps etc put in too.

Simple case of if it was working, start disconnecting stuff until it works again then you will have your fault.

Might have hit something in the loom behind the headunit when you put it in, maybe pulled a connector off or something?

Hate it when unrelated stuff breaks, pita to track and fix. I can't really offer much more help other than get your head up in the dash and check everything is still where it supposed to be.
