Today, i started to fit my OBC in to the tourer........

Followed the article by E30ADAM..........

Need some help, i'm stuck.

Firstly, i dont have the OBC Horn and cover....what does this actually do?
I know this has to be fitted above the foglight, but there is already some sort of horn there.Could this be the main horn for the car?

I have fitted in the temperature sensor and fed the loom into the car behind the glove box

Can any one tell me if the gong makes a sound everytime the car is started up.....mine did this until i plugged the temp sensor in to the loom.........then it stopped making a sound on start up?????????

Now, the left hand side of my instrument cluster does not light up , only the right side!

The article also mentions that the looms behind the glove box 'plug into the main control box' (see below:)

'You should now be left with 2 loose wires, a single green one and a red with white tracer. These wires simply plug into the main control box, there is only one place that each will fit so you shouldnÔš't have any problems there.'

which main control box is this?

In addition to this, the light behind the heater temperature dial is also not working

Finally, when the obc comes on, it flashes '----UHR'. How do i go about setting the time, date, etc..................and the figures are all in km....can it be changed to miles

someone please help....................only tomorrow left to sort it out before putting it all back together

its been a long, daunting task, but i want to complete so come on guys, HELP ME OUT

Lot of questions there, and I've been up since six, but here goes.
Horn is for the alarm of the CODE function. Not esential.
You have two standard horns on a touring - one each side. There is still room for the OBC horn as well.
Before you plugged in the temp sensor, the OBC thinks the outdide temp is well below freezing, and was giving the ice warning.
Bulb on instrument cluster failed (one of two larger holders from the back.
Bulb on heater panel failed. If you still have the OBC out, it's just below the opening where it fits. If the OBC's in, then you may reach it from the glove box side, but I doubt it.
"plug into main control box" refers to accessories connection socket - a largely unused socket at the back left of the glovebox.
UHR is German for hour - it's asking you to set the clock.
Press "consum" and the little recessed button at the bottom twice to change language.
Brian sleep now zzzzzz....
