Hello everyone, I'm pissed off with my m50 conversion. It's progressing slower than an asthmatic snail with a heavy bag of shopping. I started the conversion in January. The simple problem is time and the lack of it.

Anyway to make a long story short I set everything up roughly so as to just get it started. I scotch locked the 2 looms together as per the wiring instructions earlier in the m50 developments thread, it started and ran and revved fine. Then I tidied up the wiring and re did all the joints, one by one so as not to mix up. When I had it all tidied up, it wouldn't start. I re checked my wires several times, all ok.

Problem is the ECU is not earthing any of the 3 engine control relays. All earths are connected and I can get the fuel pump and relays going by supplying them with seperate earths and lives. Tried a different ECU and same thing. I am still thinking an ECU though because I just see nothing else. I really don't have the time or patience right now for this as I'm already working 6 to 7 days a week on cars and this is starting to get me down.

Basically I want to know how many lives should I have going into the ECU with ignition on and with engine cranking etc etc. Any help appreciated.

I also posted this in the m50 developments thread. Please just post advice if you've had a similar m50 conversion problem etc etc. I have checked the obvious.

Yeah, several times. Even tried bypassing all joints with a seperate temporary wire.

54 should be ignition switched live from the DME relay, 56 should be ignition live from the ignition switch, 26 should be permanent live from the battery.
The only connections needed to the engine loom to make the engine run, are: Live and earth connections to the battery and ignition switched live (green). You also need the green/purple feed out to the fuel pump, and the black/yellow connection for the starter motor.
