Morning All,

I was reading an old copy of Total BMW last night December 2003 and in particular an article about an E reg convertible 325i "Turbo". What immediately became apparent although not referred to in the text, was that the car had a facelfited front on it, and pre-facelift rear lights, but Tech 2 body kit..... ( I have seen others like this too).

I'm not planning on doing this but out of interest is fitting of a face lift front end as easy as removing and replacing an early front panel for a later one? If my memory serves me right as the rear arches are different between the non facelfit and the facelift surely the Tech 2 bodykit should not fit? Or is this different for convertibles.

Cheers,

James

yes the rear arches are different pre and post face lift tin tops with exception of convertable which always had the later rear wheel arch profile thus a tech 2 kit should fit.

and yes unbolt lower valance on pre face lift, bolt on new one, bolt on tech 2 bumper and valance on that.

some drilling required to fit the later bumper mounts (front and rear) but that is supposed to be all.

of yeah sorry the lower sill covers are cab specific due to wider sill, but tin top ones can be made to fit with minor cutting.
