i need to find out wether my 325i is low or high comp? ive read through posts and aparntly the block with engine code b256k is the lower comp, where abouts on the block is it stamped? or is there any other way of telling

It's on a machined flat on the inlet side, to the right of the engine mount.

Usually covered in rust or gunge though, so use a wire brush, possibly some Jenolite and a strong torch.

theres a machined flat to the left hand side of the mount if you were stood looking at the engine from the inlet side but this has no numbers llike the ones i am looking for, its so frustrating took ky engine out today and stripped it down ready for a turbo conversion guna be gutted if its a high comp engine thanks
