im not sure whats worse but dont colour code either. in fact i think id rather have chrome than colour coded 8O

keep it silver, the bonnet is shaped to drap attention to the grille, to paint it black and hide it just makes it look ugly, pointless and deformed. a bit like daniella westbrooks nose.

the only exception is on black cars, where i quite like the stealth look.

has anyone tried painting theirs a metallic silver or brushed aluminium colour, for a less twinkly chrome look, but still keeping some contrast and focus to the grille?

hmmm, might try that myself actually...

was planning on painting mine black, but looked at tons of pics of red e30s with black kidneys and decided they all looked a bit cheap and nasty.

paint it in 'aluminium' colour paint, then lightly sand it with some 1200 grit or something then. or get your humbrol enamel paints out for a spot of dry brushing. you know what i mean anyway, a soft silver instead of a shiney chrome.
