You mentioned orange peel, I just said it was less than perfect

To be exact there was micro blistering and it was patchy. The base coat was patchy.
The newly painted areas clearly have been painted with water based paint not solvent based which is not keeping with the original finish

No pro detailer will be able to correct that and most normal people will not spot it.

BMW's of this vintage didn't have orange peel like the newer stuff but they did have a slight shimmer to the paint and this finish can be replicated by a good painter
