Looks good Dan, wierdly almost like a model car in that pic above but a very detailed and very special looking model.

P.S. had to order that condensor in, should come this week.

Looks great. 225 tyres give it nice stance. The only thing is I think slash cut exhaust would look better.

Seriously, a damn good article on a super car. The honour of the article and the way the car is "held up there" with the best is a credit to you Dan.

Fooking amazing car as I have said many a time.

The third pic is a great shot... although the E30 OCD in me would be going mad both seats and headrests aren't aligned right :o

Got the mag today too at long last and its a very good write up too!

Are you putting a small tec 1 wheel on it though? I'm not that keen on the Nardi made wheel thats on it

The small Tech 1 wheel I bought will be going on it Dave :D

Im not that keen on the angled tail pipes TBH, I was considering a Scorpion with the STW tailpipes but I like the Le-Mans pipes for now 8)

I think the Lemans pipes look fine on it.

Good too that the exhaust is the only thing that looks like there might be something alittle more to it than another old chromie :D

Today I fitted some AKG engine mounts which didnt turn out to well...

Image

Image

Will have to see if they settle a bit, if not I will modify a subframe to use some landrover mounts.

So whilst it was up in the air and I was feeling keen I decided to pull the gearbox off and have a look at the clutch, ive had a problem with getting the clutch to release properly since fitting this lump, turned out the linings on the centre plate were too thick as I expected, the total thickness was approx 1mm more than it should have been, the gap inbetween was also larger.
After getting nowhere trying to setup a solid flywheel and sprung clutch plate ive fitted an M54 dual mass and self adjusting clutch cover that came off an engine with only a few hundred miles with a 22 tooth centre plate.
I managed to get hold of a late release bearing which is fantastic :D
Here it is next to my modified bearing

Image

Image

Ive fitted it in its highest setting and with the box back on there is only the slightest amount of slack between the fork and the cover plate, less than a millimetre, its perfect!

Also fitted a braided CR24v-tm spec clutch line winkeye

Image

Turning the output shaft of the box, and with a third foot on the pedal, the clutch is biting about 3/4 of the way down 8)
Might change when driving but its all good so far :D

One last pic of how tight it is in the tunnel :o

Image

Will finish off in the morning and take it for a test drive 8)

Dan have you had the car on a Dyno yet? I remember you were hoping it was going to be low 13's on the 1/4 mile but forgot to ask if you knew what the power output was.

Odd question , with a lot of the conversion that I have seen I have been curious about the stresses of the different parts, for example the clutch , could there be problems from the acceleration so agressive that you could cause damage to the parts? Or is it a case that all the parts are more than capible of handeling the extra power and acceleration? Reason why I ask is you guys seem to always be to improving or adjusting your setup and while I understand very little of the mechnical stuff I do find what you guys dooing really intresting ( is a nerdy type of way ).

On a final note it will be brilliant to see it in action at the pod this year , as rest asured there is no way on earth I am ever racing you again as I'm still smirting from the thrashing you gave me on the strip in 2009 :teehee:
