Zymol Titanium. Im really impressed with this wax. The shine it gives and the beading also is great.

Best thing you can do is throw the tcut in the bin!
Tcut contains ammonia which bleaches the paint iirc. It also leaves no protection behind so that is why you are finding it dulling so quickly.
A good polish with something like meguiars step 2 polish and then a couple of coats of NXT wax will give you a couple of weeks protection. If you want it to last longer you will need to invest in a better quality wax.

Okay more wisdom needed.
Scenario....
Currently using the following when washing/waxing.
Snow Foam via Gilmour Foam Master >> Meguiars Shampoo Plus >> Collinite 915 (obviously with rinsing and drying and other things in between).
When i do this i find i get a nice finish, and the beading is great.
However when i washed the car today it was as follows...
Rinse car with pressure washer (still lots of beading) >> Cover whole car with Snow Foam (still beading) >> Meguiars Shampoo Plus (not much beading now!
).
So what's going wrong? Is it just either the snow foam or shampoo plus that's stripping the wax off, a combination of the two, or am i being unreasonable as to how long it should bead once you actually wash the car???
There was a week between me applying the wax, and washing it again.
I have previously found when i don't wash it, it will bead for 2+ weeks (longest i bothered checking so may have been longer).
Or could it be that i'm not applying enough (wax coats)? The reason i say that is because the roof isn't beading, and that's what i do first so i intentionally apply thin, but the bonnet is still beading so maybe i applied a bit more to that unintentionally.
Any light on this would be helpful as i've already changed from 'Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo' to 'Meguiars Shampoo Plus' and have 5 lites of the stuff
Also, is there anything out there that will stop my wheels from getting covered in brakedust? I've tried all sorts on it now, and nothing seems to work.
They wash off easily enough, but some of the dirt is starting to break through the lacquer on the wheel dish now. I intend to take them off and give them a good clean and claying, but would like something that'll stop it happening if possible.
I find that the car stays clean now, but my wheels are filthy within 2 days, and makes the whole car look bad
Thanks for listening

Not sure I only used it once and not cleaned the wheels sinceaceraf wrote:How long does that stuff last?
That is the idea. Dave (d6dph) says its really good, its him that reccomended it to me.aceraf wrote:Will it stop dirt/brake dust sticking to the wheel?

Will try it out next week now (once it's arrived) and see how long they staty clean.
My wheels don't help my case either as the deep dish seems to attract dirt more than a standard wheel would

If it's dull then you need to buff the paintwork with something like Farecla G3, and then polish over that to restore some of the shine. You can then seal it with a good wax. Despite my problems above i must say Collinite 915 does work well.

how long do you spend each time, hours wise, getting your that shiny dave?
ive never really been a bufty type but cant deny it looks good. a £3 jet wash every couple of months usually does my touring until my oldest boy is old enough to wash my car for his pocket money
i did try a meguires clay bar a couple of months ago and rubbed away for about an hour but didnt really feel it made much difference. maybe white isnt the best colour to do.

A clay bar cleans imperfections of the paint surface, just claying won't really do much for visual stimulation, you probably need some polish/wax to get a deep shine out of it.

Run you had over the pannel first does it feel rough? Clay bar, then run your hand over the pannel. Does it feel smoother? thats what the clay does, remove surface contaminants that could eat into your paint.fuzzy wrote: i did try a meguires clay bar a couple of months ago and rubbed away for about an hour but didnt really feel it made much difference. maybe white isnt the best colour to do.

Aceraf, I can only think that you are using either snowfoam or shampoo plus in too strong a mix and this is causing the wax to diminish too quickly.
Even one coat of 476S on my daily driver lasted over 2 months!
What ratios are you mixing to?
Fuzzy, I think it would be a lot less than you think. Now I have it at a standard I'm reasonably happy with I can wash and top up the wax in about 90mins.
Depends on what other jobs I do each time too, I may do the interior one week, doorshuts the next, inner parts of the wheels next.... and so on.

Is there any chance you could point me in the right direction (Can i pick up a bottle of Farecla G3 from halfords?)
UnderEstimated..
Should be able to, get a small pot, shouldn't be expensive, and as you don't use much it will last for a long time.rwikky wrote:Man you guys do know your stuff hey..aceraf wrote:If it's dull then you need to buff the paintwork with something like Farecla G3, and then polish over that to restore some of the shine. I know i'm mixing the shampoo plus right as i've got the dispenser and only use 1 shot of it,d6dph wrote:Aceraf, I can only think that you are using either snowfoam or shampoo plus in too strong a mix and this is causing the wax to diminish too quickly.

I may have got carried away though as i got a free bottle with the gun, and wasn't really paying attention.
I'll look into it, and report back if this is the case.
Thanks again
