Never tried a tech I whel but mine came with a tech II and I have no plans to change it. Feels greattomson wrote: tech II is far nicer and has a better feel too.

Tech II does feel so much nicer, would love a 370mm Tech I for the looks though.
I love the look of my Tech1 in my iS - i think the Tech2 looks too new or too slick for an e30, but that's just my opinion... and the M stripes are in great nick too, which is more than can be said for my poor gearstick - leather coming off behind the badge and the M stripes faded to nothing
