you see now why
it would probably be better to chat to each other on the fone

its a dam site easier than trying to talk in text form

i hope you guys both sort this out and end up okay
Yes money could be made, take them for every penny you can.

I will get in touch with my mate on the inside and get back to you asap with the current facts and figures regarding postal insurance.

Whats to stop people pulling this stunt.

You send a mate a parcel with something of no worth in it and send it special delivery ( £150 )
He opens it and says he didnt get a made up item worth, say £120 for example.

You then claim of the post office and make £120

This can't be right is it?

If somebody doesnt wrap something up properly, its their fault, nobody elses. You have to be prepared for royal mail to throw arround and abuse your parcels, hence bubblewrap.

If things are wrapped properly then a forcefull entry would be obvious, it sounds like a shoddily wrapped parcel, so i dont know why some of you are going off on one at Ed.

No-one in their right mind would pinch just the clutch plate without also taking the release bearing! There's also the possibility of course, however unlikely it may seem, that just the release bearing was sent...

But the receipt of posting will vouch for the weight of the package as sent, which would prove beyond a doubt whether the complete clutch was indeed posted and hence also, once sent it's surely on the onus of the delivery firm to ensure it arrives complete; if it were badly wrapped originally they should have advised this at the post office prior to agreeing to send it.

That wouldn't have been a complete clutch then Ed as that would weigh more than 2kg and the cost would have shot-up to £18+ the first gramme over 2kg!
What was this clutch for and was it meant to be a full kit???

although postmen might not be the sharpest tools in the box i think they would have the sense to make any theft look like an accident by peeling off the tape or packaging rather than just blatantly ripping it open.i dont think anyones having a go at edd either rather just advising caution and perhaps chilling out at this early stage until more facts are known either way.if edds proved right then im sure he will have the support of eveyone here.

Ed says it was sent special delivery though Mark is that not what he meant by sp/delivery :?

I assumed the sp/delivery meant standard parcels...

You can't get a special delivery for £9.97... the only service that costs exactly £9.97 is standard parcels > 8kg

In the other topic's posts I've extracted:

ed325i wrote:What make is the clutch kit? (KIT)
surj wrote: hi the clutch is brand new never fitted sachs is the make

It is clear that if no kit has been sent then either it is a misunderstanding on surj's part about what a kit consists of, or he has deliberately sent you an incomplete kit.

In both cases surj is fundamentally in the wrong unfortunately. By virtue of this it would be ideal for surj to compensate for this mistake.

How well the parcel was packed is not the main issue but it further compounds the case that surj hasn't provided a decent service.

I was obviously referring to ed325i to not post surj's phone number on the zone without his permission. Data protection and all that...

I'm just trying to get to a happy resolution here folks.
Let's be nice, first.
