What im getting at is most traders know that at some point or another they will be driving a car on the road that has no tax or MOT, whether they have trade plates or not im sure no trader would take out a policy that refuses to cover if the car has no tax or MOT
What Im getting at is, like a private policy if the trade insurer can get out of paying a claim they will.
My Dads boss (a trader and vehicle transporter) cannot drive an un-MOTd vehicle on the road, his trade insurance will not allow it.
I sometimes had to drive un-MOTd cars at the garage where I used to work, but that was picking them up from the customers house and taking them back to the garage for repair/MOT, same as you or I can do on our private insurance for our own cars. I couldnt drive the car anywhere else though.
A trade policy will most likely have exclusions/conditions to allow it, but only under certain circumstances - driving an un-taxed, un-MOTd car to McDs at lunchtime is probably not allowed.
