Went to check on my car today, not going to make it unfortunately, until next time. Removed myself from the list.bss325i wrote:1: bss325i/325iSport/G341NGO PAID

Hope this is allowed, please remove it if not!
I'm heading to this (in the E30, if it passes the MOT tomorrow), but with e46zone instead. We've still got (at least) two tickets left, if anyone's interested in them? It's not me organising it, but here's the post to Suf's details. Either post on e46zone, or drop him an email.

Not sure where the different stands are though, so no idea if e30/e46zone will be close to each other. Still, closer than the carpark!

Looking forward to this on Sunday. I've never been before. I know the event starts at 1000 but do we need to get there at a specific time if on the e30zone stand or is any time ok?

Event starts at 10, but I'd like you all in there but 930am, so aim to get there by 9am
You should have all revived your tickets, display hanger and a blue sticker, the hanger needs to be on display and he blue sticker on your front screen
Make sure they are on before you get there
I'm still waiting on a final lay out to show you where we are

How was it for everyone ?
I went and I must say I wasn't overly impressed to say it was the 100yr meet. I found the museum slightly more entertaining but there was a few cars that caught my eye but not as many as I thought there would be.

I saw you leaving, going past the entrance Kieran. I was walking towards the outer carpark and saw 'fly' going past.kieran325 wrote:How was it for everyone ?

I was on the car clubs vastly under-represented E30 register stand. I spent most of the day up at the 100year photo and ended getting boxed in so didn't bother taking the car back to the stand. As some one above has said for the 100year celebration event it was crap to be honest. It seemed thin in the ground and lacked any buzz. Very little mention or show of the centenary to be honest. Just random.
It was boring tbh. As I've said elsewhere, it's run its course now and attendance had dropped massively this year because regulars are getting fed up with it. I only went to drop some bits off and pick up some morsels, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Looks like quite a few others feel the same way.
The new Jaguar museum was excellent though - the best part of the day.

As others have said, was same old same old and there was also some confusion to the start of the show as to where the E30zone section was meant to be and we ended up being put up on the grass.
Didn't even notice the E30 register section from the car club, must have been a poor turn out which seeing as the register chairman does virtually nothing is no surprise!
No representation of the E30 M3 30th anniversary either, i guess overshadowed but the centenary but even that was poor imo.
And to cap it some bit of window trim from a peugeot became a projectile on the motorway on the way up and damaged my bonnet!

There were 5 cars turned out on it at the start. Mine spent most of the day boxed in at the ariel photo so that took it to 4. By the time I got back there was two and I called it a day and went home.

Kos, I had a bit of a moan to Jamal about the e30 register support or lack of it by the BMWCC. Needs to be revitalised in my view. There was a lot of e30s there today but the BMWCC seems to give very little coverage in the monthly mag. Shame really.
Zero coverage and some for some time Jim!
Definitely needs a new E30 register chairperson as the current one does nothing.

Barry, why don't you put your name forward, everyone would support you. You could pull in some help from the usual e30 die-hards for meet write ups, restorations, maintenance tips, history etc etc.
Has anyone wondered why the BMWCC don't give much time to the E30 ?
I was sorely disappointed with some of the cars there yesterday and slightly embarrassed for the ones that actually did make the effort. Maybe I expected too much or I should just stick to the museum and forget that there was a BMW show on.

Because it's just one, very old, model that BMW made. Maybe there aren't that many owners? With the way forums and Facebook is going, I don't see a bright future for one make clubs.kieran325 wrote:Has anyone wondered why the BMWCC don't give much time to the E30 ?

I didn't even bother with any photos - there were slim pickings in terms of cars of interest. I went home pretty early TBH.
I saw you just as you were driving off, shame we didn't get a chance to catch up!anothere21323i wrote:I didn't even bother with any photos - there were slim pickings in terms of cars of interest. I went home pretty early TBH.

Thanks for suggestion guys but i don't think i would be able to spare enough time to take such a role on by myself.Fal_325i wrote:I Second what Jim is saying Barry, go for it, you have the support. Not sure if you'd be up for it, as it's an extra thing to worry about.
I was approached about 5 years ago by Andyboy and someone from the car club to contribute toward the E30 register and the impression i got at the time was that the chair person at the time did not want to relinquish their role yet was happy for others to put the time and effort in only for them to get the recognition by being in that role.
That situation has not changed as far as I'm aware other than said person does virtually nothing now......
