My first car was Ibiza 1 litre for sub £1k
You can buy many half decent runners for sub £1k these days
Visit car and classic, autotrader and Pistonheads
A lot of good cars on car and classic

We've all done it mate, me, a rusted out Mk3 Escort finished in splendid faded orange, far from cool, but by 18 or so I could afford to insure an Astra GTE :D which also at the time, it was listed as the fourth most stolen car in the UK :eek:

i don't seem to be able to get a quote for 1980 1990 vw golf's/jettas 1.6td's surly thay'd be the cheapest car to insure and and hopefully nobody would know what they are

Look for something 1000cc or less would help, but sadly, these days, insurance for youngsters is very difficult to get sub £1500.

Not sure how ppl do it but on cutters / Gutterz you got 21 year olds driving E46 M3s on their own insurance.

4 years no claims, living at home with parents, £550pcm insurance :D

do you guys know insurance companies preferences for quoting 0-60. liters. desirability.
for instance would a 520 have the same quote as a 320
