Well some work has been done

I purchased new coilovers

which have bilstein springs and shocks, new wheel bearings adjustable camber and are studded ( longer to run spacers ) which is excellent

Image

Restored my pop out windows. I fixed grinder burns and painted them. I need to polish out scratches then tint them

Image

Image

A patch was welded on the rear panel and the rust replaced with nice new steel, the tech 2 rear bumper is also fitted ( test fitted )

Image

The fake tech 1 front wer having a hard time with, it should be on today

Not another one in that colour! Hope it turns out okay bud, it's one of those hit or miss colours and will show up imperfections etc.

not sure what i make of the m3 spoiler verde, might be a bit much

but you should do all the prep on the valance before fitting it and paint that off the car on a stand along with any other kit bits and bumpers etc

look forward to seeing it progress, what color is it to be ?

The m3 wing is for nurburgring use only. My street boot is smooth.

Colour is a semi secret for now. You should see some of the parts being done soon. Wheel centees for eg. As you said itl be a bit of a ghetto superstar and the paint wont be great but it should be nice enough

haha YES! Polsta thats a cracking idea, OEM dealership style but " Ghetto Superstar "

And you may be laughing at the " nurburgring/track use only " but the car is going to Germany this summer and as people keep drilling in, iv never driven a rear wheel drive car and i dont have bags of experience, the spoiler is there to keep me on the track, not for looks. Itl be on the ring, knockhill, thats it. Smooth boot elsewhere.

The spoiler won't add much downforce in reality and won't keep the arse in check *that* much! Don't drive like a twunt and you'll be fine without it, I'd even go as far as to say that the back end will be just as dull/lively with it as without.

You'd need to be seriously pushing the car to get see/feel the gains of the spoiler but then you'd also need to have pushed the car without it to know what if any gains you have.

If you're worried about stacking it, drive slower, it really is that simple.

Yeah I agree with that, I need/want to go and was possibly going this summer but with a job change and other priorities it's looking very unlikely. Having driven various different cars, hard, I'd still drive like a granny around the ring for fear of stacking it! :D
The bills for armco and closure really are quite offputting! I know a guy that rented a Golf there (his 200SX broke down when he got there) and said "it's too slow to crash" and then had to fork out £8k+ for armco etc. when he binned it. :D

Itl be exciting to see how real GT5 is haha, if theyv got the incosistancies and surfaces right etc, where all the bumps are.

Your mate musta been fuckin spewin! broken 200 and an 8 grand bill!

This was about 3-4 years ago he did it, now has a Jag or AMG wagon, I don't remember which, seems to change quite often. :D

GT5 should be fairly accurate (they take pride in it) but the surface will vary a huge amount due to fluid spills etc. Also with the length of the circuit, the weather and general conditions can/will change as you go around. Take is sensible as if it is a road you've never driven, the corners often come out of nowhere (some brilliant videos of idiots on YouTube :D).

Id hope its pretty accurate, if not im going to die. Il give you a shout when im heading over to see if your gunna make it, might be able to meet up at the ring or on route somewhere? Itl be late summer i go though

Thats our plan man, bit of ring time, tour a little, Il be posting a thread when the time comes to see if anyone else is up for joining, its a long shot but you never know. The ring is in liquidation and has been on edge for years. Id hope after all the motoring heritage bmw and mercedes front cash to buy or save it. The money it needs is only a few million

Late summer I should be in the states but by all means, drop me a message when you know you're going and I'll see if I can get a few mates together too (I know a few really want to go and were looking at it his year).

Nothing is confirmed about it yet but the place is having financial troubles and has been for the past few years which means it is likely to end up closing. Even the F1 was moved from it (the GP circuit, not the nordschleife) due to financial issues. :(

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BCrbu ... al_aspects
In 2012, the track was preparing to file for bankruptcy as a result of nearly $500 million in debts and the inability to secure financing.[12] On August 1, 2012, the government of Rheinland-Pfalz guaranteed $312 million to allow the track to meet its debt obligations
So things could be fine. There is also the view that because it has become so popular there are loads of morons that go now and it is very crowded so people that used to go loads are looking elsewhere, usually to Spa.
