Yep, a capacitor fault with a batch of electric steering racks produced can cause loss of power steering.Ajsingh wrote:EPS? Nope! Thats another thenbss325i wrote:Have you done/ heard of the EPS recal on E9x and E8x?Ajsingh wrote:Bmw recalls are nothing compared to Honda

New rack, programming and KDS. Did one on an 61 plate E88 with 5507 miles on the clock.
You get 35AW's to do the whole job and on a mad caffeen hit in the morning done it in 29AW.
Slightly off topic, programming is a p!ss take at 4AW now!

Yep. Setting up the TM starter on twin 35/40 INAT's is a pain. They only give me 2.6 Imperial Shakespeare Hours for that.

The n42 and its buddy's are piles of crap but a lot of there trouble is down to the silly service interval and chain tensioner s , I have seen a few where the broken chain guides get sucked through the "Plastic" strainer and into the oil pump to be ground up and stick the oil pressure relief valve . As for the e46 boot floor issue i reckon 40 % of all e46s I have worked on were cracked or signs of it cracking , mostly early one s but about 80% of m3 s of all years even a 05 one with low mileage . And don't talk to me about the new n47 heap ! But it seems like all new cars are crap! Not just bmw . Sad to see the brand going down hill like this , I don't think there will be many f10 s on the road in twenty years and if there are the dash will be lit up like a disco !
