No don't push it......................
................cut the floor pan out and pedal it like in the Flintstones !
I'd just chip it until you save some funds for an engine swap, i'm not trying to be a "big engined snob" just trying to be practical as to whats worth doing on a 1.8 ?
Can you get a big bore TB for it ?
When are you picking it up mate ?

saturday dude, driving down there at 6:00am
i know its only a 318 and i really am gonna miss the power of the 2.5 but i personally think touring are nicer looking anyway thats what persuaded me into the swap, dont really thinks its worth doing much to the engine because it aint like ill be getting 200bhp plus so whats the point, lets just say i could get hold of a 3.0 engine or a 3.5 engine on the cheap, what other things would i need to make it a "safe" drive, you know brakes etc..... still cant wait to pick it up though, oh yeh and leave my 318i alone!!!
i could always get you to tow me everywhere you went, that way it would be as quick and i think thats probably the only way at this moment in time you engine snob you..........

I know what you mean about the good looks of the Touring, i took these pics at the drift meet on monday, hansom(sp?) cars !

Your brakes will be fine on the Touring, it's the same set up as you have on your Sport, vented front discs and discs on the rear. Fine for road use not so hot if you want to do a track day though.
Brakes you have covered and some uprated springs and shocks like i said before and it should be fine.
On my 325 touring it had the m-tec suspension for 2-3 months after the swap was done and it wasn't bad at all just a bit to rolley in the corners.
My car is on totally(sp?) standard brakes and rides on Spax adjustable shocks and springs.
BTW don't bother with the 3 L M30 if you can help it.

cheers dude, sweet info, BTW nice touring dude, what a beast
are you sure there will be disks at the rear to, i thought they were drum on a 318? think im just going to consentrate on the looks side of things for now and get the liitle "new car" niggles out of the way
maybe do a conversion next year some time when there is a little more con in the pot, whats yours like on juice BTW? lol, not as good as mine
but at least you get somewhere when you touch the pedal, where as mine will just think about it for a couple of days first
