Back on the road after 10 years, teething problems!!

I'm going to very cautiously announce that I think it may be fixed!
After removing the injectors I spoke to a well respected local mechanic who was 100% convinced that my injectors were not at fault so rather than spen £80 to get them overhauled I took his advice and replaced them after a brief soak in injector cleaner.
I replaced the intake hose and pressure regulator and it seemed to be running nicely in my drive. Noticed a jet of petrol coming out of one of the hoses, so I sorted that too. Took it for a spin. Drove amazing for 3 miles and then stutter stutter and ground to a halt. Turned it off for a few minutes, then tried again. It managed to get me back home (just) for some more head scratching....
Then, I took out the fuel pump relay (hope ur readin this Sparky) and gave the connectors a clean with some wire wool, turned it off and spent the rest of the evening with my mate Stella. I was going to drop it into my local mechanic this morning as I had just about exhausted anything I thought I might be able to sort. On the way there I was surprised at how well it seemed to be going, so I drove past the garage and kept going for about 6 miles. I wouldn't say its quite 100% but its loads better than it was! It hasn't packed in big time all day. It still has a mild stutter at times but still brought a big smile to my face on the twistys round our way!
I'll let you lot know if it starts acting up again but I'm gonna try to source another relay just to be on the safe side. Got quoted £52 for a new one today which is never going to happen lol.
So a BIG thanks to all of you who have helped so far and I'm sorry Sparky that I didn't try that earlier! It seems you may have been Bob on with your suggetsion! I hadn't tried it earlier because I wasn't too sure which one the fuel pump relay was but managed to work it out during my reading of manuals etc yesterday.
