That's right. Me and my car have been in a couple of BMW magazines.bss325i wrote:Welcome back.![]()

I've still got the copy of the magazine. I keep it with the lever arch folder of everything that I have done on my car. Should keep the value of my car up. Not that I'm thinking of selling her. I often have ideas of getting a new BMW, but then I come to my senses and see fit.

Yeah, I started to do one, but there were so many beautiful E30's available to choose from that I just didn't know where to start and didn't want to offend anyone with my choices. All E30's are beautiful; from Tourers, 316, 318, 320, 323, 325, Alpinas, Hartges, Motorsport, Convertibles to the M3 and anything else that I might have missed, oh yes the Baur. All wonderful E30's; so many to choose!! LOLCotty wrote:Wern't you trying to get an E30 calenda sorted just before you left?
It would be nice to do one though. We would never run out of cars for calendars.

As you have been away for a while im not sure if you realised that the E30Zone now runs a Car Of The Month (or COTM for short)Cabgirl wrote:Yeah, I started to do one, but there were so many beautiful E30's available to choose from that I just didn't know where to start and didn't want to offend anyone with my choices. Mr Clarksun picks the cars, anonmod so no one knows who he is. Bit like the Stig

It would be an excellent idea to use the COTM to make a calendar!! Anyone know of a good printer?

It's really good to see you all on here and the welcome back is awesome. I love all your cars. As you can see, I've not done anything to my car. It's still in pristine condition, even though it is still not garaged. It stays pretty good considering it is my only runabout and has to deal with all the elements that the British weather hands out. I wish I could do what B7 does and just uses her for the summer. Just imagine what she would look like if she was garaged all the time, she would never get dirty?

That's because I made cake!! A Birthday cake no less for the celebrations. It was a Betty Crocker Chocolate Devil Cake. It went down a treat. I had 2 Snoopy balloons on the car, so that it was having a real Birthday party!! That was a great meet. It was run by the BMWCCGB. I think that, in fact, I know that the zoners overtook the show with their attendance. Well done zoners!
I believe that there was a video of it all, but I never saw any of it.
|I'm thinking of attending Gaydon this year without cake though!!
It was good to meet with you and Nellie. Are you going to be attending Gaydon. Would be good to meet up with you again. It's like meeting up with distant relatives. Really nice to see each other after such a long time.
Thanks for the compliment about my car. It still looks great, even though she doesn't do many miles since I've not been too well. She has a little rust in both rear arches, which I hope that I am going to get fixed this year.
It was at that meeting that one of the guys gave me a little model of my car - I think it was one of the guys from Wales. It was soooo nice to know that someone was thinking about me to go to the effort to find one and bring it along to the meet. Thanks once again. It made my day. I gave away some chrome side bumpers for free to JonB I think. I still have the middle bit that I forgot to take with me.
I really like the picture. It was a pleasure to have so many men around me, even if it was for the cake. Maybe also a little bit to see me.

Here is one of me just for you though. Don't laugh too much at me. I'm rather self-concious. Not the first on the list for looks.

Welcome back Lizzie, glad things are on the up for you.
If you ever feel down, just come on the Zone, you can either post a thread and get some sympathy or just read the Techinal Section and read about other peoples misery of rotten body and blown head gaskets, whichever, you'll feel better afterwards!

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
Thanks for your kind message. I get down quite a bit. I suffer with real bad depression and have a very low self-esteem. I'm taking a homeopathic remedy called 5HTP, which seems to be helping me atm. I actually managed to take my car out for a drive, wash it and wax it (with the help of dad) and also attend the ACE Cafe meet last month, so can't be bad, considering I usually stay in bed all week and don't do anything. I love my car and feel really bad that I should do more with her, but when days are bad, then they are bad.Jesus325iTouring wrote:Welcome back Lizzie, glad things are on the up for you.

I really appreciate the response I have got from the welcome back messages; they are all awesome. It has brought me to tears at times that there are E30zoners with wonderful spirits.

I can't really go into it but I do understand what life is like with severe depression, you should give yourself a pat on the back for ANYTHING you do.Cabgirl wrote:Thanks for your kind message. Other than a very expensive E46 convertible, there really isn't anything else that I would want. I don't trust French cars. Mercedes build quality is just naff atm. I think that all Vauxhalls are just boring. I would like a TVR, but I don't think that with my dodgy knees that I could get in and out of very daintily, without doing a Jodie Marsh effect, but with nickers on!! The cars I like are too expensive for my purse, ie, Aston Martin, DB9 etc. I simply just love the E30. No matter what model it is. It's just class all the way. Beautiful lines and subtle design make it such a beautiful car.
Thanks for the compliment of my car.
I try to keep it looking as nice as I can.

The really sad thing is that there are far too many people that suffer with depression. A lot of people think that saying "you're just having an off day, pull yourself together" is actually going to work. I wouldn't wish depression on anybody. I was going to say my worst enemy, but I would like to think that I don't have any.
Thanks everyone for their kind comments. They really do mean A LOT to me. I sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart for such a great welcome back.
I must admit it was a sad thing having been made to stop doing the admin, but there was a bit of a shake up on the zone some years back, many say not actually for the better, but hey, things happen. As long as the E30zone still keeps running for the owners and enthusiasts, that is all that matters. That was the original philosophy of the E30zone was to have it solely to help out any owner or enthusiast of an E30, no matter what model from the small 316 up to the M3, and this was all done freely, and not to make any money out of anyone, which I would like to think that this is still the case! Forgive me if I'm wrong.
