No contamination of the oil (comes out almost the same colour as it goes in), and no bore wash with a cold engine.
Far superior fuel.

Used to do 30k per year (i've had it 5 years) but more recently she has it a bit easier and I make my R5 do all local donkey work,i've even put 40,000 on that in 2 1/2 years.Alex wrote:you must do a fair few miles in itJesus325iTouring wrote:I meant to say,of my 245,000 miles just under 90,000 of them are "my" miles, and I still love the sound of the six firing up,and of course the occasional wail a little further up the rev band
It's having kids and living in the sticks that does it!

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...

If you fit it badly and let the mixture go lean at high revs, your pistons will melt, the same as a petrol engine.
On some engines, such as the rubbish produced by Ford, the valve seats will burn, but they often do that on petrol anyway. No such problems with BMW.
Last complete kit off an E30 325, that I bought on ebay, cost me £63, IIRC.

Brand new kit costs around £600 all in, and is easy enough to fit. A couple of threads on here at the moment.Alex wrote:£63how much are new kits are they easy to fit yourself or not

The £63 kit was freely available to all of you on ebay - twice. The first time it sold to a serial non payer for around £110.
Came from a guy who'd bought a rough 325 for sand racing and just wanted rid of the kit.
Came with a nice bonus when I collected it - the gas tanks are pressure vessels, and are supposed to be tested every ten years, but, in practice, it's easier and cheaper to fit a new tank. This kit came with an eighteen month old tank!
Its my only car but its not driven daily as i catch the train to work. It is garaged and only do about 3,000 miles a year so will never be a contender for highest milage.greentouring wrote: Cotty, your touring is immaculate juding by your pics....Is it your daily driver? Is it garaged?
Its ok from a distance its only when you get up close you notice the stone chips and scuffed IS spoiler
