Na man, it fell apart in our hands

Luckily we found out mk2 golf rear suspension is pretty much identical. So Il make Jumanji tomorrow AND I wont get nipped for not being able to make an MOT station

Nice one fella, looks/sounds like it was a bit of a bargain really. 8) Now just make sure you're sensible driving it about and don't slam it on it's arse. :D
Turned out to be good advice
The fucks that supposed to mean? Its sitting standard bar the wheels which I thought wouldnt cause issue and was sitting cruising home.

The main thing is the e21 is ok!! it held up well for sliding at 70mph

Verde mate it looks like a wake up call that, i got some 5mm spacers that i was planning to put on my e30 just because i have them laying around. But i think i won't now

But on the plus side it ripped off that stupid looking plate you had stuck to the right hand side lol. IMO it looked way better in the centre but its not my cars so its what u like 8)

Any updates on the e30 weathers great so no excuses to be slacking

Iv repaired the damage

It cost me £1, to stick the plate back on. Iv put the steels back on.Sukhi put your spacers on, but for fuck sake buy longer bolts!!!

Jim said optimum is 6 turns, the stock e21 steels turned in 7 times....the bbs and spacer only turned in 4...So that explains it

haha, my mate Sam who was in convoy with us came in with me and forced me to sit at 50 on the way home to get over my fear. It did me good. I still get twitchy if i hear wierd noises or theres large changes in surface ( sometimes makes a wild noise ) but i think im ok.

UPDATE

New brake pipes, Wing ordered, rear shocks off a mk2 golf modified to fit,
60mm lowering springs, front struts refurbed, brakes bled, new clutch fluid

Hence why I said pre-lowering :P

This is it lowered, the front springs have been on 12 hours, the rears 1 hour. They have to set still

Ruin it? What fucking planet are you from. Have you ever even seen an e21 in the flesh, let alone been in one? The suspension on a standard E21 is absolutely fucking harrowing and iv almost died several times due to its wallowy nature and unpredictability in the wet. Not to mention the effect the wind has on it when you exceed 45 miles and hour.

This car was destined for the scrapper, and now its in my hands its had new bushes, suspension, the exhaust fixed, the carb tuned, its got new brake pipes, its getting a disk conversion. It will receive a full respray and the chrome restored back to its original quality now to mention all the dents filled and the leaks sorted. The underneath will be fully wax oiled and treated, It will get flexi hoses, GSXR carbs, full leather interior with black carpet and to top it off and a nice shiny new set of wheels that compliment it.

If you dont like the thing, cant even appreciate it or even offer constructive critisis, dont bother commenting cos iv already but an absolute fuck tonne of work, time and money into this thing and all I have is people commenting on the position of the number plate and telling me to do this and do that when hardly anyone can actually think about the non asthetic things iv done. It went from sitting in a driveway in Wishaw being driven 1 mile once a week for a year to being driven daily as a rolling restoration that gets me to and from work every day ( 30 miles ) Im doing a lot to this car but ruining it is not one of them.

..that's part of the fun of old BMWs. I love taking my E12 on the twisties near me, holding onto to the steering wheel on the corners as it lists from port to starboard... :D

Verde has a few very valid points there, pete.

Apart from the number plate, which, iirc, he asked for opinions on...... and got.

Ah yes, I must correct that, I did ask for comments on that which is fair enough. But people gave their opinions and said look i think its shit, noone stated i was ruining the car.

M30 21? Your a yacht engine deviant rav!! that will be wild. I really want a straight six in mine, the 1800 just isnt cutting it, its very difficult to keep up with modern traffic I find, safely that is

As for the E12 man, any photos of it?? :D My dad loves those cars, I wanna buy him one as thanks for helping me out with my turds
