I had a 1979 Mk1 R5 850cc when I was 15,cost £12.50,used as a farm track slag.

First car on the road was a 1982 MK3 Escort 1.3L,bog standard, broke down with frightening frequency, was full of rust and looked shit.
Still,it was a car,could do wheel spins,and thats all that mattered :D

Brilant red 316i-lux.
around 110K on the clock
gave no trouble really except two shocks which were bought for me before I said I was getting harder and lower stuff all round
A centre prop guibo was the other thing.
Apart form the fuel consumption she was a great thing really. It wiped the smile off a E36 318iS owner once winkeye
M42 rightness above 6500rpm, nobody can hear you scream

My Dad gave me his 71 VW squareback in 81 when I got my drivers Lic. I drove that to Hight school , it was perfect since it got great gas milage.. And gas here in the US back then was about 1.20 USD.

The first car I bought I still have a 1967 Mustang GTA. I stripped it to bare metal repainted it and drove it in the summers only. Since Michigan used salt on the roads in the winter. Its now sitting in the corner of the garage all covered up. It needs an engine rebuild, low oil pressure.

There is a photo of it on my web site.. bottom left http://www.keeperofcars.com/

Mercedes 190E 2.0l. Mint as you like. 16" Evo 1 Wheels, Biright Red. The b*llox. Miss her like anythin, but she did pave way for the 325i. Although the diff on that merc was much better for sideways action than the BMW one. G524 UUW, hence my screen name.

Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec, totally stock.

Shit hot car IMO. No such thing as 'only' a Focus, it was an excellent car...the only flaw was simply that it was too ubiquitous and boring. Drove well, comfortable, efficient, but not above a bit of hooning when you wanted it. Plus it had a heated front windscreen:mad:

Was 20 by the time I got my first car...I'd gone down the bike route at 16. First I had a moped, then a 400cc Honda then a 900cc Triumph which I still have. T'was cool, having a vehicle at 19 that would do 150mph and a 1/4 mile in <12s :)

She was high at that point. Used for towing a caravan so i used the springs from an old 300Te i think, which were higher and meant i could go 5's up and tow the 'van. She did give back seat passengers vertigo.

I have to say, it handled OK on them springs She was ridin on 225 tyres. And on the standard springs i had, wouldn't budge in a sideways direction in the dry, but with them ones it gave it the extra centifugal to get goin sideways. Iv gotta couple of slidey videos with them springs on, ill work out how and post em, comical if nothin else.

A Hillman Super Imp that I drove into a ditch one sunny April Sunday. The 'old man' was paying the bills then so it was a short succession via the most vivid, electric blue Datsun ( eye-popping tangerine interior) 240Z to a silver grey 2002 Touring, Fraser-Nash. Now there's a name from the past!

Mk2 Fiesta XR2 paid £1500 in June 98. Had it till Novemeber 98 when somebody drove into the back of me.

Not as bad as it sounds. It was pretty rotten underneath but I let me heart rule my head on it. Suspect with hindsight the speedo had been disconnected as it had FSH but only 50K on the clock
