If you can give me a court date and court location i can get jay to check this and if you are correct that you were found guilty of doing 127 miles an hour i will gladly give you the keys to my car, in fact you can have the e36 m3 or the e30, take your pick.
I am deadly serious by the way, the car is yours.

tourerti - if you have 2 cars, can I have one?
A friends Dad was caught doing about 140mph in his Esprit V8 turbo. Banned for 2 years and a massive fine, but he didnt go to jail.

I just find it amazing how on this forum almost everyone knows someone caught over 120 miles an hour and hasnt faced jail when in reality only around a dozen people in the whole of the united kingdom get convicted of driving at such high speeds.
I am not refering to driving at these speeds but getting convicted of driving at these speeds.
I simply dont beleive it.

we have a local business man whos car has been clocked on a local dual carriageway at 156mph in the new 6 series .the driver was also on a mobile phone at the time.
He has denied it was him as the photo wasn't very clear and said he was at a party the night before and left his car there with the keys.
This was in local and national papers a few months back.
This dude hasn't been convicted yet as i still see him driving around.

But that has nothing to do with this argument, if it is proven to be him he will be doing a lengthy sentance for sure.

My trusty steed was a brilliant red M5 3.8 touring reg YFF278 the 'offence ' occurred 4th of march 2001 ( i just checked the dates). I was convicted of dangerous driving on 17/9/01 at basildon magistrates court (court 1). The sentencing was about the 8th of october. Peter Walsh is my name and Robin Falvey my defence lawyer.
I am now cured and a respectable pillar of society .
Now when i look back i can laugh but at the time it was very sad and expensive !. The coppers couldn't believe how fast i'd been going, they didn't think an estate could go that fast (the car was debadged !). My immediate concern when i seen them was eating the astra tax disc that i had on display ,proper council hero style !

As a newbie, I will no doubt get flamed for this, but ask me any details and I can verify them. I'd like you to believe me, though I'd probably be very suspicious myself.
My friend, in his Evo 7, (his dad owns a large construction company) was caught doing 130mph, at 18, with 5 points on his license already for being caught at 90mph.
He got a fine of over Ԛ£500, and a 3 month ban. That is not a typo. I don't know if some of you are from America where laws are more tough, but in the UK a good lawyer can sort that sort of punishment from that sort of crime.
Anyway, back on topic... Does anyone have the actual factory figures for 0-60 and 0-100 for the E30 325i sport and the e36 328i?
Magazine tests are most often done with a hand-held stopwatch.

my 328i sport is very quick in relation to my old 328i SE - the current one has had the new block and it noticeable faster than my old one... how do i know i sold it to a mate.
Nikasil on a 328 is difficult to spot sometimes, maybe the 325 e30s racing the 328is were racing dodgey ones... there is no way a stock 325 e30 would beat a stock 328i.
FYI - my 328i below will do best part of 70mph in second before needing to change up - in an e30 you have to change gear to get to 60... trust me i've had 3 of them!
maybe this is why the e30 feels just as fast - through the gears etc. but in a drag race - 328 all the time.
cheers

Jay has checked the dates from 01/09/2001 too the 29/09/2001 and no one was convicted of driving at such a speed in any london court, the highest speed was Mr S James convicted of driving at 107mph on the M25 at 3.15am on june the 4th 2001 and convicted on 05/09/2001 and given a 3 month ban, Ԛ£800 fine, Ԛ£240 court costs and 8 penalty points.pacerpete wrote:My trusty steed was a brilliant red M5 3.8 touring reg YFF278 the 'offence ' occurred 4th of march 2001 ( i just checked the dates). Its a shame Jay didn't spend as much time keeping an eye on his keys ! .
From memory basildon is hardly in london it is in the darkest outskirts of essex, the sort of place one might happen upon a councilled up 4 pot merc convertible being driven by sportswear clad trash.
So what chariot have you got tourerti ? should i be excited or should i ring up the local frag yard ?

Does it really hurt having your head stuffed up your arse.
So, a Brabus mercedes is council trash you say, and what do they drive round your parts, lambo`s, fezza`s, GT3`s.
I have a tourer 2.5 and an M3 evo.
