Hi guys!
Right, it would appear the 'pre-facelift' rack I bought had a traingular rack not a round one
So they're sending it back to me and we're no further
Does any one have a spare pre-facelift rack they'd be willing to send to Quaife? I'll pay for the courier and you'll get it back again?

How can you tell without pulling the rack apart?

Ok this is getting confusing
Prefacelift diagram

Face lift diagram

As Ross said they are identical but is it just a library picture used for both??
Does anybody have a post facelift rack they could take pics of like i did?
I know my rack is definately a pre facelift as its stamped 87 and it came off a Tech 1 sport.
I'll be a back up rack donor if you want?

this doesn't bode too well for finding a pre-facelift rack to rebuild! But my name is staying firmly on the list

Gonna be a while yet. Imagine they will have to develop the tooling for them etc before they can produce them.

Hi,
The problem with this conversion is
locating the 'U' Manual Racks in the
first place.
The Triangular ones are far more common,
but no tooling exits for them.
Roland Gotte has been doing this conversion
for a number of years now, on any 'U'
Rack, Manual or Power upto 2.2 lock to lock.
He charges around 900.00 euro.
Roland supplied the Manual Quick Rack
on my E30 M3 Track Car, makes moving
it about in the garage fun, on the plus side
you can cancel your Gym membership.
Have any of you guys ever driven a 6 pot E30
with 205 + front rubber and a Manual Rack ?
Regards,
The Gorilla.
