AFRIKAANSE MATRIEK EKSAMEN

Vraag 9a) VERTAAL IN ENGELS -

CORRECT TRANSLATION

Just like in the time of the Voortrekkers my brother-in-law Jan went hunting porcupines and polecats with a double-barrelled shotgun

Eventually my brothr in law saw a polecat ,put a shell into the breech ,lay down, fired and there lay the polecat with his legs in the air

As we came closer we smelt how the polecat stank and ran away.My foot collided with on the root of a tree ,I fell down and broke my collarbone

Coming out onto the main road there was aman with a flat tyre.He asked if we knew of a garage he could find to put air in the tyre

From sheer dejection we just sat down by the side of the road

LITERAL TRANSLATION

Catch sauce in the time of the Frontpullers ,was my heavy Jan iron pigs and smellymousedogs get randy with the double run hail weather

At the end saw my heavy a smellymousedog, put a patron in the walk, lay on, pulled loose and there lay the smellymousedog bones in the light

We smelt near to the smellymousedog and hardwalked road.My twelve inches hoed close fast on the carrot of a axle,I hit close and breached my keybone

Coming out by the chief frog there stood an old with a porridge wheel. He asked if we knew of a motorharbour to become in his afterwheel

From pure motherlessness we sat our trawl there alongside the frog

There you go Iain ”“ hows my Afrikaans skills after 10 years without use?

With little traffic will be about 40 minutes

Stoney Cross to Fox and Hounds can be anything from 15 to 25 minutes as the road bottlenecks

well, not a bad day today :). i managed to t-cut (gently) both flanks and then "mer ed" them. they came up really nice. i put a nice clean set of x-spokes on and sort of tidied up the interior , well, a bit :o:
i didn't have time to fit the skirts though, as i need to drill holes in the new sill for the fixings and the same goes for the rear rubbing strips too. oh and the bumper end caps :(
i shall have a day drilling holes in my new bodywork 8O when time and weather permits.

tomorrow, i shall put on a nice newish boot badge, wheel centre caps, and load up with all you lots parts requests (pedal board, door handle surround, VDO guages x2, check headrests, wheel arch liner front pieces, air intake, battery, tech2 kit clips...anything i've forgotten?)

see you all tomorrow lads, looking forward to it :thumb:

well i was supposed to be going to London to look at a van for somebody this evening, but that has been cancelled and i'm getting itchy feet, so haven't been bitten by the bug today, i may just drive to the local lit car park and fit my bootlid tool kit (then take it off again to fit the bootlid liner next week :snigger:) and clean my windows... , then get home in time for M.O.T.D. (oops, sorry TPS :teehee: )

Can't be bothered with mine today.
Will give it a good going over when the crap weather goes. It's not too bad at the moment, after the hailstones / snow that came down on it yesterday... Wet now from the rain, that's enough washing for one day...

Wallisdown at 11 if djscottfree and matt320i still want to meet there, F&H about 1/4past.
