Ever wish you could have a short and long track chip, or one for LPG and one for Petrol, or one for the odd thrash and the OEM one for normal driving, or even one with a 3K limiter for when the car is in the garage/valet.

Well, you can ! and swap between them whist driving if you wish ( on the fly )

Some soldering to the PCB is required so its not a DIY prospect TBH but if you are willing to send us your ECU, with or without a modified chip and the OEM or otherwise, we can modify and test for you and return safe and sound

the switch can be on the ECU itself or remote if you wish

costings really depend on volume, so express your interest below please.

the mods take around 2 hours to complete and test so approx £85 per unit if you supply the chips, or £ 150 inc the OEM and a chip to suit your mods ( 29 variations from 20 to 2.8 litres on M20 !

Suitable for 073, 172,173,179,152,157,387, and the iS 175 ECU.

this will work on 400 series non EWS ECU's too.

thanks for reading

just too add, IF interest is high enough and pending deposits received I will get a plug in card produced to make this a DIY prospect, but that will require at least 100 members to confirm in order to be viable !

thanks again

i would want this! but mine is a 2.7 to be and i would need two maps created by you. a super stinjy fuel preservation mode and a balls out fast road map. so roughly how much would that set me back? but i am mega interested!

I'm up for it! :D Preferably the plug-in jobby (but TBH I can't see 100 people laying the money down). I've got a couple of spare ECUs, so it won't be a problem for me to send you one. When you say "external switching" could it be switched by my LPG/petrol change-over?

Ant.... Are you able to do an LPG map, or would I need to get a chip remapped on LPG first?

I'd require a chip for running on petrol, and one for LPG. To have the twin chip setup installed, switchable either remotely, or preferably from a switched +12v from the lpg ecu when running on LPG.

I appreciate this may well mean coming to you and time on a dyno, how much approximately?

Ps) Running with lambda feedback to the motronic (173) ECU, M30 3.5L (027) AFM, 19lb injectors, 64mm BBTB, earlier high compression engine, btb3 and single 2.5" exhaust system. My current chip isn't a mile out fuelling wise, until 4750 when it goes lean quickly and keeps getting leaner, dyno run aborted at 6000rpm.

To Answer Stuarts Question.

Yes the chips are progrmmed in house by us, no Ebay copies, no BS just straight out of the Emulator to you.

We have provision to realtime live map motronic series ECU's all the way up to 413 series, again all in house will full manipulation of all aspects of the file on the chip, limiter, idle speed, part and full throttle load sites for timing and fuel, all the trim maps, the AFM to voltage correction map etc etc.

Although we currently lease dyno space, we do have plans for an in house facility, 2010 should be a good year for A-Tech.

:D

Do these need to be mapped for the individual car I'd guess stuarts 2.7 and my 2.5 require different settings, or do you just make adjustments to a known good ignition map?

No Generic best guess file dude

we live mapped a Leonardo LPG equipped 325i on 173 ECU to gain back the HP and TQ the gas conversion robbed her of.

Have you got any before and after figures for the lpg map? My engine is the earlier high compression pre cat 6E engine running motronic 173 ECU, would your lpg map be suitable? Is it posible to run on petrol on the lpg map or is the twin map setup neccessary? Is the timing adjusted at idle too? So many questions, really looking forward to getting this done!

This is the ideal solution for us LPG users!

Alex, I've looked on Hugo's website and he has dyno graphs showing comparisons of V8 Rangies on petrol and LPG with timing correction. The plots are virtually identical. :woohoo:

I get +14bhp switching back to petrol with the mixer attached, getting that closer on LPG will be very usefull!

It will be interesting to see if ANT saw similar results. I'm really hoping to get this done before the Zone roam. I'm thinking that economy on LPG shoul be increased noticeably too!

Alex I need to go to Fritz in the next 6 weeks or so, maybe double up on that visit ?

Biggest issue I have with the PLG chips is I can optimise them for the GAS but the end result is stil only as good as the AFR control the system afford, closed loop is OK but has only 6 mapping sites so V hard to get the AFR spread 100% correctly with these.

@ Stuart, Bell me whenever suits dude, pretty much a life sentence here @ the mo.

:thumb:

Lots of reads on this but little post traffic ??? do I need to clarify a little here guys ????????

it is possible to run 4 Maps in one ECU, 2 chips to change between and using 512K eproms I can switch each lo-high on power up to give a choice of 4, quite who'd want or need 4 is another matter

We have lots of testing and R+D projects on the go @ the mo, more to come..... :thumb:

Ant, I don't fully understand what you've said, my leo gives an incredibly stable AFR across the whole rev range on LPG (measured on the dyno). BTW I've fed my motronic ECU the generated lambda output from the leo, this has made running on petrol much smoother.

Mine too, on a WOT run the laptop says the car is a little rich on gas all the way through the rev range :)

I will be having one of these but I would like the petrol AFR's checking, it belched out a fare puff of black fuel smoke on the rollers (LPG mixer/cat flap removed, still with plastic trumpet in the air box and 2 day old Mann air filter)

But first, she's due for Tax/test and insurance by the end of the month 8O

litle update on this

the plug and play PCB has been designed and is currently out for quoting for mass assembly

makes this a true DIY proposition.

Please, I need some names that are defo interested in this

as a PCB costs look to be £65.00 per board excluding chips

Hi Ant

I want to get rid of my maf conversion and go back to Motronic as im finding the car difficult to drive when its cold - it never seems right when its warmed up either.

Where are you doing the mapping cause i may drop the car of to Evolve at some point to get the mapping done - id like a all out race map, and a economical one too if poss. can you PM me pls whats possible or if you can do the lot.

Thanks
