I have seen a couple of these and they look really good and very subtle.
Anyway when ever someone mentions them there are lots of replies saying "I want one" "me too" "me three" etc

Now I know they dont make them anymore but from what I have been reading we can get copies made if we had an original. Now I know Tourer-Dan has one for sale on this thread http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... 711#150711 for Ԛ£60 but looks like TOURINGDADDY is interested

If we could get hold of one and get a batch made up who would be interested???

Related thread that sparked my interest
http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... te+spoiler

This is what I am talking about

Any idea what they're likely to cost?

No, someone was going to make some enquiries but cant reply to the thread as the Highly Modified section has now been closed

An original recently went for Ԛ£137 on e-bay

But I think we could get them at a reasonable price if we could get some interest in doing a group buy

Depending on when this is going to happen I would be interested in one too, my current black thing is knackered anyway. Would also probably need it posted, although might be across the water around October time.

It was me who made the enquiries, as I had my spoiler off for refitting, I took it to 2 places, and both told me unless I was going to sell at least 100 of them, it wouldn't be worth the effort making them, so I didn't bother, and have re-fitted the spoiler.

The first pic is my car BTW! :D

Just out of interest did they give you any idea of costs for 100 or how much each unit would costs

No, they didn't give me any idea of cost, but I could tell by the looks on their faces it was going to be a lot! In all honesty I think they were only interested in big projects that they could make money in themselves.. :(

if i can get my hands on a plug, one to copy wich i will return once i have copied it,then i can do them for 50/60 gbp each,i can make the mould myself as i want one for my touring and i will stand to the mould making.
the cost of the pattern and mould making is usually the biggest expense but as i want one for myself it is worth me doing one.
the mould will take a couple of weeks to make.i am not in any way in a position to mess anyone around i own my own company making furniture for a living and me and a freind do fibreglass and carbon fibre, carbon kevlar products in our spare time for pegasus microlites, vtr owners club, aprilla race series and various road bike and rally car bits and pieces.
i need a plug to copy.

So he's more than doubled the price of the spoiler? That's a bit unfair, e-bay prices! Looks like I will have to remove my spoiler again!

If you did that and got a good copy you could sell your original and end up with cash in hand

I'd keep the original!

I'm just not so fussy (no offence here) about handing my spoiler over to a stranger!

I would really like to get this moving but im miles from either of you to arrange anything.

Simon I am really gratefull for you offer, I was hoping to buy one then get the moulds made in case anything happened in the post/moulding process. If you stilll wanted to allow your spoiler to be used as a plug then a few members would owe you a drink or two.

I bought one for a friend recently, he still hasn't fitted it, I will speak to him to see if he'd be willing to let his be used for this purpose.

Ԛ£50 sounds reasonable considering it will have to be painted of course.

Keep up the good work - it's about time someone took this challenge on!

Well bmv has kindly offered to make a batch up and from what he has said in this thead he has experience and is capable. I have not met the guy but he sounds like he knows what he is doing.
